The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has once again extended the deadline for political parties to present candidates to the municipal elections of 18 February 2024. The new deadline is Tuesday, 28 November 2023 at 8pm.
The political parties and electoral regime laws enable the political parties to choose their candidates in primaries, delegate assemblies and even using results of polls. These results can later be contested in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The procedures have been complex and the political parties have asked for numerous extensions.
