Other than being at least 30 years old, I don't know what the government guidelines are to be considered a "classic", but it's a "classic" IMO.
Ok, hey I have no idea. I figured if you're importing a classic then it must meet some sort of specification, not just a clunker kept running

Neither will the vehicle unless it's under lock and key 24x7. OP did not indicate if it qualified as a "classic".
Classic car. This classification definitely overlaps with antique cars. The definition of classic car is actually quite similar to that of antique cars. A car must be at least 20 years old, but not more than 40 years old to be considered a classic car. It should again have been repaired and maintained in a way that keeps it true to its original design and specifications. In other words it should not be modified or altered. In addition, many add a stipulation that the vehicle should have been manufactured no earlier than 1925. For these reasons all classic cars are also antique cars, but not all antique cars are classic cars If the car Jeep 77 is original and not modified it meets the definition. Whether this is the definition the Dominican government goes by I don't know. There is a police interceptor Ford here in Jarabacoa that looks really nice, not sure of the age and there is a 1940s Willy Panel Jeep as well.

Exactly.

In the DR the classic car clubs are literally the gatekeeper. Their blessing is key to getting it in the country.

It is not just age, but also collector value (restored or un-restored). By way of example, a 1980 Mercedes 450SL would qualify...............but probably not a 1980 Chevrolet Citation.

There are no clear concise rules beyond age........................but like porn.............hard to define..........but you know it when you see it.
