a negation: neither case, in no way,
or
an affirmation: in any event, in all likelihood, in any case?
Ni is a negative word(neither, not either) but when coupled with caso it looks ambiguous to me because there is no negation of the verb that follows. For example, "Ni caso voy hacer lo que dices". I would say if this were a negative sentence there should be an addition 'no' in front of the verb "Ni caso, no voy hacer lo que dices tu".
So the question is can "ni" only be a negation when accompanied with "no" before the verb? And an affirmation otherwise?
