Digesett agents were instructing vehicle drivers to remove their vehicles that are parked in areas with No Parking signage. Over the years, with the lenience of the authorities, it has been customary to park wherever, even if it meant leaving only a single lane for vehicles to drive through on two-way streets.

For the next two weeks, and as part of the new RD Moves campaign of Intrant and Digesett, those who circulate in the commercial and residential hub of the capital city known as the Poligono Central, are being asked to comply with the law.

They need to come to Cabarete. Vehicles here just park right in the middle of the street.
They used to do that where I live until one afternoon about 4 or 5 flatbeds showed up
and towed all of their cars. Hasn't been a problem since.

They're usually not parked there long enough and it creates a traffic jam which would make it hard for a tow truck to get through. One typical place for this to happen is in the center of Cabarete in front of the liquor store. The vehicle will just stop right in the middle of traffic, turn off the engine and get out, and go into the liquor store. The big parking lot is right across the street buy why spend 100 pesos? You're only going to block traffic for a little while. Other spots where this happens often is in front of Bon and the other liquor store across from BHD bank, although it can happen anywhere in Cabarete. Really makes my blood boil.

They should do this across the country, the initiative is 'RD Moves' not 'SD Moves' but as usual they will focus on SD because thats more visible to the government.

I've been hearing from business owners both Dominican y foreign, here in Santiago they are going to implement the same plan.

At least someone else complained about it before I did. Rare but it can happen. Makes Mr Happ even Happiers when that happens.

Anyone notice that the vehicle in the picture is not "parallel parked". They just pulled into a yellow zone. How many drivers here actually know how to properly "parallel park"?

Of course they mean parking in no parking areas and/or double parking and blocking traffic flows. It is certainly annoying in Cabarete.

That would be great but implementing it across the nation would be even better. Laws should be consistently enforced otherwise people will continue to break them

It's also becoming more common in Sabaneta and probably Gaspar Hernandez as well.

I sadly had to go through Gaspar Hernandez and experience crappy parking last month. So no 'probably', it is 'definitely'. Unless you meant that the enforcement is happening in Sabanete and Gaspar Hernandez, in which case I am happy !
