Verify with the embassy of the country before traveling to one of the countries that the Ministry of Foreign Relations announces visa-free travel for Dominican citizens. Last year the Ministry of Foreign Relations announced visa-free travel to Russia, but this is not happening yet. One Dominican recently posted a video of the hardships and penalty he had to pay after he traveled to Russia without a visa.

A report in El Dia on 21 November 2019 confirms visa-free travel to Russia is not yet available. The newspaper reveals that the Ministry of Foreign Relations says that while the agreement was signed for visa-free tourism travel to Russia on 26 November 2018, that country has yet to complete the necessary protocols so the measure can go into effect. The Ministry also says that visa-free travel that had been announced with Brazil and Morocco is also pending procedures to start in those countries.

Since December 15th 2020 Dominican Citizens holding a Dominican passport can travel to the Russian Federation visa-free.

As of the covid pandemic, all entry via ports is limited to only Russian citizens and legal residents there.

Dominican Republic citizens don't need a visa for travelling to Russia . The maximum duration of stay is 60 days.
Any stays longer than 60 days must be carried out via a visa.

The Russian Federation operates an interests office at Punta Cana. There are ongoing negotiations for them to open an embassy in Santo Domingo in the near future.

The Dominican Republic opened and operates a full services Embassy in Moscow for the past 15 years.
