North Coast Scuba Diving ???

Hello all

I stumbled upon this message board doing research on the Dominican Republic. A large group of us are coming to the DR for a visit. We sponsor many children in a town near Puerto Plata and are getting a chance to actually meet them.

While there I would like to go Scuba Diving. I know the diving is not the best on the North Coast but any diving is good diving to me. Can anyone tell me the "must see" dives along the North Coast ? I plan to try the Sosua and Rio San Juan areas. Any comments are greatly appreciated.

I am really looking forward to this trip.

Diving on North Coast

Having worked in the Dr on the North Coast in both of the areas you require info on. ( I am a PADI Instructor )
I can assure you you will find plenty of interesting dive sites in the resorts of Sosua and Rio San Juan. Contact Northern Coast Aquasports in Sosua and they will be happy to arrange your dives for you and the staff are extremely friendly.

I know I used to be one of them.

There is a dive tour place in Rio San Juan near the lagoon. The owners are real nice people. I dont remember the name or number sorry

Thanks... That's the dive group that I've been talking to. Gina has been very helpful and honest with me. I did not want to do the novice dive sites and she told me about the intermediate level dive sites. They sound like a great bunch.

I can recommend Northern Coast Aquasports in Sosua as well. I remember they have some wreckdives in their programme.
