They have started the construction of a Ole supermarket in Boca Chica. It will be on the Caracol street which is the one when you go down from the traffic lights to the beach.

The Colmados are likely to stay in business because they allow people to run a tab.
If they go bellyup it will be because the people didn't pay their tabs. Supermarkets tend to lure people eho have cash away with lower prices. In Barahona, the Jacobo supermarket gives a 5% discount to anyone who buys $1500 pesos or more. In the market, if you buy a 50 lb bag of rice, you get 5% off as well.
On the other hand, it is not always cost effective to pay a motoconcho to take you downtown if all you want are the makings of two sandwiches, three cigarettes and some matches.

Great for Boca Chica, what was it? Five years ago Ole opened near the airport?
