Do you mean totally delivered by the internet or a computer based course? Some people say the Rosetta Stone courses are good though not cheap. On CD's not online, since I bet there re none online.

This is not what you are asking for, but it might do the job:

http://www.workplacespanish.com/travelers.htm

The C.D. is great to use in your car during rush-hour or with earphones at the gym. I hear. They have a fun, no-grammar approach. Lots of repetition, and exposure to some good accents.

Online you will focus on grammar, I would assume. Let me dig one up that I recommended to friends.............be right back, Sam

If you trully want to learn spanish in all aspects, then you should find out which college text books are used for spanish 101, 102, etc.. and the lab courses that go with it, then go to your local university book store and buy that 320 page book and learn. Remember, that you won't have the instructor guiding you through your mis-pronounciation.

www.studyspanish.com

I would recommend this website www.studyspanish.com

You can buy the CD's for in the car, you can do grammar exercises with tons of tests online, and then the best part online I found is the Pronunciation Drills. They will speak the words correctly (once in Espana Espanol and a 2nd time in Latin Espanol) and then speak the same word incorrectly (native english speaker) so you can hear the difference.

There are a bunch of the parts that are free for guests to try out before buying anything.

Thank you all for your advice - I will check out those links.

I am not a complete beginner - I do have a basic level of spanish (latin american) from living in the DR for three months last year. It's a little rusty though and I would like to take it to the next level.

I have a couple of books but I figured that a course whereby I could complete modules online - focusing on grammar with tests so I can track my progress and have the ability to hear the pronounciation of words as I go along would be ideal.

Going to check out those links now and let you know how I get on.

Thanks again

I have been exploring this site in my lunch hour and I think it's great. There are comprehensive sections covering grammar, pronounciation, verbs, volcab, travel help and even cultural notes together with a multitude of tests.

You can sign up for free membership which enables you to track your test results and if you sign up for the premium membership, $14.95 for 1 mth and $39.95 for 3 mths, then you have access to even more tests and vocab.

Thanks aerobaticman- I have signed up and already completed a few tests at lunch....it's all coming back to me.......slowly! I hope to take it up a level in the next month or so.

Samanasuenos - I also checked out your link (http://www.learningspanishlikecrazy.com/Spanish_Grammar/index.html) - again there are some great fact sheets here with a few exercises to try at the end.

Thanks to everyone for your help/advice. I will let you know how I get on......or maybe the real test will be to start posting in spanish !.........(not just yet though, hey!!)

I found that before I started taking spanich classes I tried every website that offered that I could learn spanich easy!

The ones I found helpful were www.learningspanishlikecrazy.com and www.spanish.aboout.com.

I found the about.com one very helpful. It sends you an email either daily or weekly based ony our needs. it taught me alot about verb conjugation. Which my spanish teacher has barely touched base on (which is also very important when learning a new language!) It also sends you words of tha day. But if you would like to go on your own pace.... theres a menu on the right hand side of the page which goes through different gramatical things like past, present and future tense. And different things that try to help explain the language. :classic:

This was the first step I took to try to learn spanish. it helped alot so when I went into my first spanish class i already knew more than most people. :lick:

Another program I found helpful was before you know it. they have it in many langueages. It actaully speaks to you and has quizes and lfash cards to help you try to remember the spanish word once you see the english and vice versa. That has common things like days of the week, months, seasons, colours, numbers and common sayings in a hotel. that also helped alot because it actually has someone saying it to you so you know if you are pronouncing it wrong..... :rambo:
Which has helped me alot!!!! ;) :bunny:

They may not help you, but they started to help me understand the lanuguage! hopefully it helps other people. But it is pretty basic stuff.

learn spanish online

cool: Here is another good site that offers free lessons.with small tests and also audio pod lessons or mp3 downloads ,forums and a whole lot of other things plus some very reasonable ($15-$20.) aids. This is run by a young lady who's main interest is helping people speak espanol. www.spanish.bz/
