You really want to bring US dollars here $RD16.8 to one 1 $USD they are much more widely accepted.

I just got back on Thursday and the most simple conversion roughly is 20 pesos to the pound so 100 pesos is about ?5.00, but i would check what currency as we had an all inclusive holiday and was advised to take dollars but they were nothing but grief as they have to give you pesos back and can inconvinence them with all the conversions.
