This is one of the most beautiful areas of the DR. There are several beaches, such as Caleton, Diamante, La Entrada to explore. There is also a sulphur water hole (near La Entrada) that probably you can get a local to take you to. Also visit Pueblito Principe (go for dancing at night under the stars, you can also have dinner there) and the Laguna Gri Gri in Rio San Juan. Rent a Chevrolet Tracker convertible jeep and visit Cabarete beach and town and Sosua Beach and town, further West, and Columbus Water Park and continue on to visit Puerto Plata town and see the Amber Museum and the Brugal Rum Factory.
