What country prevents dominicans from getting visas to the US?
Is it the Dominican Republic or the United States?

Good one, Ernest. I will try to remember that. We usually say "there is no stupid questions, only dumb answers". The chinese saying is more eloquent.

Why didn't anyone step up to the plate to answer the man's question??? I think I have AN [not THE]answer: the United States INS. Because there were a lot of problems in the past with a criminal element of the Dominican population and a lot of fraud when it came to marriages and the like, the INS clamped down HARD. To get a visa now is incredibly difficult, even for the "good" Donimican who wants to come here and have a better quality of life and /or to study and work to help their familly. It makes no sense at all.
The problem I have is that Haitians are given almost free access and hard-working good Dominicans are cut off the lists. I have serious problems with that. Our country was founded by people from everywhere. Why penalize some and ignore others. There are Haitians living here in NYC that are wanted for murder in Haiti and yet our government will do nothing. YOu go figure.

DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT

Madam, if you will look at the post by the DR webmaster (which by the way was answered in approximately 15 minutes), you will see that he DID answer the question. The man asked who made it so difficult for visa etc. the USA or DR and our fearless webmaster replied post haste. And, have you reported the Haitians wanted for murder to the local police or INS. I am sure they will take appropriate action if you will but direct them.

Her comment regarding the Haitians wanted for murder yet allowed to stay in the USA,is what is known in the "trade" as: "A thinly veiled racist comment!" Criss

Re: DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT

Hey Chriss-- watch your mouth!!! What I said was known fact and NOT a "thinly veiled racist " anything. I can see that you love to spout a lot of verbiage withoput looking into your facts. The person in question is a wanted man in Haiti, but the INS wil do nada to bring him to justice because it has some kind of "arrangement" with the Haitian government. I know the name of the man, but I am not stupid enough to put my neck in the noose.

The problem I have is that we are protecting Titi and he is on his way to being another Papa Doc. Our troops are still in Port-au-Prince and we have other priorities right now given the events of 9/11. The troops could be better spent in other places in on the terrestial ball besides Haiti. Haiti needs to look for ways inside itself; to try and use their own resources. There are a lot of talented, educated people in that country who COULD help their brothers, but they are not in the mood.

Think before you speak Sr. Colon. I see you use the name of the Admiral. In times past, that name, if spoken, could invoke a curse. Don't call me racist.

I love the DR and her people; I amy be a grings blanca pero no estoy estupida!!!
