Pool Heat Pumps

I'm building a new villa on the North Coast & looking for information on pool heat pumps. Who installs & services them? Experiences? The builder isn't familiar. I had one in South Florida. It makes daily winter swimming much more enjoyable. They are efficient & economical compared to gas or electric pool heaters. Surprised there is so little knowledge of them in the DR. Thanks

I don't think there's very much knowledge, because there is no need
Any time I've been in the North Coast in February, everybody is in & out of the pool because of the water temperature. Perhaps, much different in the other 3 seasons when I may not be there. Almost all upscale hotels/inclusive(s) in the DR have some sort of pool heat in the winter.

The sized heat pump I priced with a US supplier is a little under $2000 plus shipping & taxes to the DR. No warrantee out of the US. I'm having the builder do the prep work for the unit so all that's left will be the electrician/plumber install near the pool pump. Sounds too easy. What could go wrong? lol

Pool heat pump units take the heat out of the air and transmit it into the pool water. Generally, air temps have to be 60 degrees or more for it to work efficiently. Rather the opposite process as a mini a/c unit. Very efficient. Heats most pools a degree an hour until the desired temperature is reached.

Interesting. Thanks for the information.

You should get inverter type heat pump, just like air conditioners consumes a lot lest electricity.
