Presidente Cerveza Pilsener Type Beer

Folks, this relates to the taste of Presidente. I believe Presidente as served in the RD tastes better than the label distributed in the States; it is fresher, a bit more keen. According to Rafael Menicucci, President, of Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, C Por A., it is the same beer. (See DR1 Daily News of the 18th) A family friend of mine, a Dominican, says the alcohol content is greater on the island. Maybe, it is the reason for the difference. All I know, it is a great excuse to make more trips to the RD from the states. They should include it as a reason for entry on the tourist card when visiting the island. A cold Presidente on a hot night at the Malecon in Santo Domingo, can't beat it. Regards, PJT

I said that a few years ago when tasting Presidente beer in the Miami airport, that it tasted diferent then in the DR. Also on the contrary, I found Presidente has less alcohol content then the regular US beer, I can drink a six pack of US beer and feel a buzz where I can drink Presidente all day long and not be that "borracho"

I spent an eveninig/night in Santiago a few years back, went through a case (at least I think it was a case) over 8 hrs. I was still standing. Best fiesta ever, great beer. Regards, PJT

There is no difference between the Presidente here and there. It is not really that strong of a beer, with the alcohol content being 5-6%.

To my taste, it is the best beer in the world. I also find I can drink it all day long and not be drunk, but I theorize that it is because I am sweating it all out constantly. If I sat in an airconditioned hotel room and drank a bunch of it I would probably get drunk.

I actually discovered Presidente beer in Miami long before my first trip to the DR. I wish it was distributed in Ohio. I have to go to new york in 1 week, I will try to get a couple of cases to bring back.

Can you find the smallest "p" on a bottle of Presidente?

Presidente should increase the production and mass market the beer in the US.

I agree it is the best beer in the world...it will be a great success story.

Yes, Presidente can be found in NY in the small bottle, during a trip to Austria I had the oportunity of tasting some of their beer and frankly i faund them very good. Deep inside I felt that presidente could compete with these beers the response I got was the production, not enough.. I think the presidente is better than must US and Mexican beer but it has and up hill batle because of capital and production. The company is run by very good people and perhaps will see a presidente made in USA. Salud. Rafael.

Living in New Jersey, I can also find Presidente in the bigger "grande" bottles.
