I would like to find out what the price of Liquor is at the airport? I also want to find out how much you are allowed to bring back to canada> Since there is no 40 oz , can you bring back 2 26ers. Thanks Sue
Sue, I do not have the current today prices BUT I can tell you that the airport is not a cheap place to buy liquor. It is not duty free..it is a sham. You can buy the same liquors, rums whatever in Sosua at "Super,Super" (a liquor, sodas, coffees...which are also cheaper) for 15 to 25% cheaper right off the shelf without even bargaining. This has alway been the case for many years. Yes they have always allowed 2x26ers into Canada even though the law says 40oz.
I just want to let you know that you do have to be careful with what you bring to Canada. Although they may allow 2 26 oz bottles back to Canada, coming back from Jamaica, I was charged for the extra 12 oz, so it does depend on the Customs officer.
To make sure you know your limits and what you can and can't bring back, please check the "I Declare" brochure that is published by Revenue Canada. The link below will take you there.
Hi; I agree and disgree. Local stuff better off locally than at the airport. Imported stuff better off at the Duty Free Shop or the Airplane ( if they sell). Bill
