For the second consecutive year, Puerto Plata’s Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) has received VINCI Airports’ Inclusive Dominican Republic 2020 Award at its highest gold level, in the category of Universal Accessibility and Design for All. VINCI Airports grants the award to airports best designed for optimized passenger flow and to allow people with disabilities to enjoy a comfortable experience.



The “Inclusive Dominican Republic” award seeks to promote and recognize good practices that favor full inclusion and the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families in the Dominican Republic. The installations are part of VINCI Airports’ ambition to modernize its infrastructures to offer the most inclusive and pleasant experience to all passengers.

So the largest operator of airports in the DR gave itself the gold medal of excellence award for outstanding airport service.

I agree it’s not very clear but VINCI is an international operator not just in the DR, so I assume they had to choose between many airports in the world, so it has some value. That’s what I understand.
