For a change and a quick break this spring my wife booked us into the Melia in Varedaro, Cuba. All in with air, hotel, food and drink from western Canada was $805 CDN each. To do the exact same trip to the Melia in Punta Cana was $2331 CDN each.

Granted the food in the DR is better than Cuba its certainly not $1500 per person better for 1 week. Looking forward to a different island for a change. It's been 15 years since we have been to Cuba.

There are a few really good seafood restaurants in Varedaro Beach, but hard to find. Need to ask someone that knows.

That certainly is a good price..... price of airfare to DR must be about $800CAD

I seem to remember that PUJ had 65% of flights not long ago
