punta cana holidays

I am going to Punta Cana in mid-June. I will stay at the Riu Taino hotel. Can anybody share their experience on that subjects? Please provide me with useful info. Mirek kwiatkowski@sdm.com.pl

Last Saturday my mother and I arrived from punta cana (Catalonia), we really enjoyed it there. The beach (not deep and a lot of seaweed) in Catalonia was not so great, but in some other hotels a few km. up north in the same coast and beach the beaches seemed great (deeper water, some more calm and other with bigger waves). From references of some local people Riu Taino is one of the best hotels. It is worth going to the Capitan Cook restaurant near Meli? B?varo Hotels, great seafood and lobster relatively cheap. Some boats takes you for free from your hotel and return you back after lunch. Pls, let me know if you need more info. Regards

Hi Almu, Thank you very much for your mail. I would like to know what are the weather conditions - I've heard I may expect heavy rains. I would like to know also if DR is a suitable and safe country for family holidays. I don't know what is the price level for restaurants, softdrinks and organized trips - so I can decide how much USD to take. I can't find www devoted to DR or Punta Cana - can you help me with that. Hi, Just returned from Punta Cana, stayed at Bavaro Palace. The weather was beautiful.The rainy season over in April. It only rained once while we were there. My whole family went(2 children,1 20 year old, 1 older lady, 2 mid 30'2)There was something for all. Most of the big resorts ofer all-inclusive deals on food and drinks,look in to one, they are worth it. If you are staying at a resort, do not go off unless with a tour group. The tours are average price. From small hour tours for around $10.00, to 8 hour tours from around $80.00(US). We scuba-dived for around $40.00 a dive, that included equipment. Souveniers are expensive. I have purchased chonch shells in the Bahamas for $5.00, on the D.R. we found non less than $25.00. The Dominacan people are wonderful and friendly. All in all we had a great holiday. Hope you do to.
