Punta Cana tours

I can't wait! Will be arriving this Saturday for a week at the Allegro Bavaro Beach. Besides the activities at the resort, what tours are worthwhile doing? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mary- I am sorry I can't help you.....I wish I could. Please,please write me report upon your return! I am going to the Allegro in October and am so interested in talking to someone who has been already! If you get a chance can you check out if this place will be good for two single girls..40'3 and 30's? Or is it mostly couples and families? thanks in advance karen

Mary, we had the best time when we were in Punta Cana recently. We took the Jeep tour. We had a good time, but I warn you it is a very long day. By the end I was so dirty, because you ride in the back of this large jeep with about 8 people to a jeep. It's totally open to the sun, the wind and the dirt. We visited some interesting places, we went horseback riding at a really nice ranch where we had a nice lunch and got to play volleybally and relax. We also visited a museum and a nice gift shop, where Charlie, our tour guide, got us some good bargains. We went to local farms and got to try the local fruits. You really get to see the countryside, which was surprisingly lush and tropical, unlike the areas near the resorts. It's worth seeing, just prepare yourself for a long, hot day. It cost about $160.00 for the two of us. None of the other tours really looked that great. Good luck and have a great time.

Dear Mary,

I also went on the Barvaro Runners tour which is the jeeps this was a good time but I want to warn they have a cock fight and the ranch that you go to has 3 American Bald Eagles in a very very small cage and this will bring tears to your eyes, but if you can handle this this trip I would recommend to any one Charlie was a very informative guide and funny as well.

the Second trip that is a must is the Kun tiki boat/snorkeling trip this was a wonderful wonderful day spent and it only costs like 50 a person.

and if you go to the Mantee Park there is a guy there named Edward and tell him that Nancy Ann Bright sent you and to give you a guided tour of the facility and If you would please tell him that I miss him also.

We were there in January..... Just to let ytou kinow about the jungle trip.... we were to be picked up at 7am, we waited until 8:30, no message from anyone, and then we called them, after trying for an hour, and they forgot us. They refunded my money, on the runway, secfonds before we flew off.

We stayed a the Melia Bavaro.

We did take the island tour, very nice, and worth it.
