We went there a bit before the pandemic for 2 or 3 nights. A limited number of "huts" quite basic but clean, none of them far way from the beach. The owner was/is french and you feel it in the quality and presentation of the food. We loved the food and had all our meals there. Lovely staff, lovely beach, very quiet, safe, a great place to do... nothing. It is a very long drive from Santo Domingo, the last 100 km, via the mountains takes about 2.5 hours if I remember well. We would go back.

Agree with what JFK said. A good place to go do nothing! I would go again! As mentioned, the last stretch takes some time.

Sounds like a long way from Jarabacoa
Three hours according to Google maps so probably just over two for me. My MIL died at the beginning of September so my wife wants to go somewhere she can walk on the beach at sunrise and sunset and take her brother along so we can start new memories for Christmas. Doing nothing, other than swimming , walking, and talking suits us just fine.
