quick question cariba tour,taxi to cavern ojos?

Hello everyone

How much is a taxi from cariba tour bus station, to los tres ojos cavern, then to go after to el Pharo?
If there is a public bus that goes close to it, I could take that also, if it's not to much buses.Thank you for your time.

I've been there. It is pretty remote and off the beaten path. Plan on taking a taxi and expect to pay about RD$250 for the trip from Caribe Tours to 3 ojos. If you have the taxi wait and take you to the lighthouse, this will be extra, as will taking you to your destination after you are done at the lighthouse.

My experience is that getting a taxi from 3 ojos is difficult. Our group walked cross country to a road people at 3 ojos told us about where we could flag down a car to take us back to the city.

I read somewhere, that you can walk from los tres ojos, to the light house,.. if that is true, how far are we talking, in minutes if possible.
I went like15 yrs ago, My ex, stayed in Los minos, so i don't remember. Getting old, hahahaha. Thanks for your time.

drroyal2000 - I read that too somewhere that one can walk from El Faro to Tres Ojos.
Well suppose that is the case .... you still need think about your transportation from Tres Ojos back to your hotel (or back to Caribe Tour station). And if I were you I'd take Ken2's advice about lack of taxies in the Tres Ojos area.
Unless you plan to have a cell phone while you are there then I'm sure calling a taxi should be simple??
I'm taking an unlocked GSM cell phone with me and plan to buy a prepaid SIM card upon arrival. I think somewhere on this forum there are taxi tel#s or I suppose your hotel can give you a taxi tel#.
If you end up taking a taxi from Caribe Tours to El Faro ..... maybe you want to ask if you can have the number of that taxi and call him to pick you up at 3 Ojos vs having that perosn shouffer you around with wait $$ time?

We asked about that when we were there and they told us it was possible and showed us the way to go. We decided to skip going to the lighthouse, but it appears it is possible. You probably would have better luck getting a taxi from the lighthouse than from 3 ojos, but the suggestion to keep the card so you have at least the number of the taxi company is a good one.
