Anyone have a restaurant in the North-Sosua or PoP?

Trying to get some information on what kind of revenue a small restaurant catering to Dominicanos may generate. I have an idea of some of the costs but not sure of what it may make.

Any thought/ideas?

Are you including the breakages in that figure Eddy? How about the police visits too?

PLEASE jrf, come down & do the investigations yourself over a 6 month period before buying. It is not JUST the income you need to check out personally, but the "hidden" costs, the ones you won't get to know until you have BOUGHT the place! You need to know 100% that there are no bills outstanding (down here you become responsible on buying a place for any outstanding bills the previous owner has not honoured yet). Come speak personally with other restaurant / cafe owners before you take this very far & save yourself a lot of hassle AND money! ~ Grahame.

No, those figures are "Total Sales" before deductions etc. Profit = 0 to a few 100 pesos.

Eddy, ya figure it is that bad?

I am not going to "buy" an existing restaurant and want to keep it simple.
I found out that rent in those areas is about 600 to 800 dollars/month and am finding out about other costs now.
Was there two weeks ago (my fifth time in 14 months with one stay for 9 weeks-not that some of you care) and will return in three months and find out more then.

I never thought about the "previous" owner issue or the police "just coming by to say hi" visits either.

Gee, I could have said that I was sick of the cold weather, had a computer, and wanted to open an internet store and centro llamadas .
