I am very familiar with the benefits of the subject title when used as a means to settle jointly owned property such as a house. However, my understanding is all U.S. based. I now have a need to use this type of jointly owned property here in the DR. Is the title prepared in the same manner as one might find in the US? Is registry any different than an ownership by one party? I would like to be prepared and know this information before I sit with a lawyer to discuss and hopefully the law and procedure is like and similar to US law.

Rights of Survisorship. . .In the Dominican Republic?
The legal concept of "joint tenants with right of survivorship" does not exist under Dominican law. Whenever more than one party purchase a property jointly, they do so as "tenants-in-common".
