Can buildings fly?

RUI as company has been around since 1950s
They have had a good run in the Dominican Republic.
Considering they are upgrading existing building there are people getting paid to make sure they get it right.

So many palaces.
Can't keep up.
The Riu Palace Macao referred to, is the original Riu Palace.
I see that the original Riu Taino has been incorporated along with the Bambu into the Naiboa.
And the new Bambu has been moved down the beach.
These guys like to keep people on their toes.
lol.
Trying to figure out where you might end up when you book a holiday in PUJ is a risky business.
You pays your money and you takes your chances.

RUI knows exactly who their target market is.

I did not think they were upscale.
But they are not lowbrow either.
Partied hard with some Canadians that were cool as ****!!
In fact I have parted with Canadians all over the world that have been cool as ****!!
But the Canadians responding to my posts here on DR1.

I always liked the Riu Hotels.
The Taino was great and then the Bambu came along.
Still great.
Their Naiboa was doubtful.., but it was catering to a more downscale market.
Woe to the poor Destination rep that lived through an overbooking and had their clients bumped from Taino to Naiboa.
I still remember the big party when Riu Palace did their soft opening.
The stories I could tell...
The terrace off the rear of the Hotel always made me feel as if I was in a more exotic place than PUJ.
The only downside for me was that the Canadian (Quebec) market didn't gel well with the German market.
And at the time, TUI pretty much controlled things.
I guess they were partners in the venture. (I don't know if that is still the case.)
Anyways...
Like all of the other properties in PUJ, they seem to be keeping up to date with market conditions.
I just wish that ALL of the hoteliers would pay more attention to their most vital asset...the beach.
