Google Translation: Cabarete.- This morning a North American resident accompanied by a team of lawyers and dozens of employees denounced having been vilely scammed using fraudulent and inventive maneuvers that have had the support of authorities, when buying a property located in downtown Cabarete, for hundreds of thousands of dollars and despite the efforts made, the time elapsed and the evidence, justice is indifferent and asleep before their demands. Rocky Ross, of North American origin, stated that he had come to the Dominican Republic with the interest of investing part of his fortune in business, for which he bought from Mr. Frank Brittingham the bar 'Rocky's Aqua', located in the center of the city and with a view to the sea, for the sum of US $ 665,000, which represents more than 50 million pesos, and invested another US $ 200,000. in the remodeling and adaptation of six commercial premises,

Ross could not contain his tears when he said 'I could never imagine that a short time after buying my business a group of armed men accompanied by uniformed men and alleged authorities would violently throw me out on the street, with all my workers and taking everything away', to the time that he expressed feeling hurt by the situation experienced by 30 employees who depend on his business and who are on the street today, seeing the hope that justice is done and they can go back to work vanish.

In addition to dozens of its employees, the North American investor was accompanied by part of the community leadership of the sector, as well as Dr. Marta Cabrera, José Francisco Rivera and dozens of residents who with one voice request the intervention of the President of the Republic Luis Abinader and of the Attorney General of the Republic Dr. Mirian German, to prevent the continued deterioration of the confidence of foreign investors for investment in this important tourist destination.

I had never heard before that he was ejected from the business by the authorities. I thought there was just a long battle between Rocky and the previous owner over the payment when Rocky bought the place about equipment included in the sale deal being bad. Was the non-payment of the purchase price the reason for the eviction?

I was there when they removed the furniture and everything else that wasn't nailed down. Then they closed off the front and back of the bar/restaurant with metal sheeting. A lawsuit by Frank caused this to happen. I have heard many stories about who was at fault for the payment dispute and resulting shutdown. However I'm on Frank's side.

I miss Big Frank! It was always a pleasure to sit and chat with him. IIRC Rocky had Frank locked up for a bit. Back to Connecticut for you Rocky!

That was a long, complicated story. There's a lot of details in one of the threads here somewhere(?). It all depends on what you want to believe the truth is. Last I heard, the two sat down and came to an amicable agreement.

That's what I thought. I think it was Frank12, who knows Big Frank very well, who said so.

One of the reasons Rocky got evicted without notice is that the notice of eviction was sent to the address of Rocky's corporation in Santiago which I think was his lawyer's address(?). I don't remember all the details. I was a complicated story as to why it even came to that.
