My guys tell me that there's extensive flooding of houses in the Sabaneta area! In some areas the water is waste deep!! Not going to be a very pleasant Christmas for some of the poor souls out that way?
Our first Christmas in the DR as residents we lived out that way, between Cabarete and Sabaneta. It flooded so much that I was 'house-bound' for three days - could not get across the little rio to the main road.
I remember how surprised I was to see people cleaning their houses after these floods but not contemplating a move to possibly live in another spot, not so prone to flooding.
just spoke to my neighbour and the Yasica ain't flooded at all upstream at Canta La Rana, Islabon......so if someone was waistdeep it doesn't seem likely that it was flooding from the river.....maybe he fell in something somewhere......as Peter reported the guy was "waste" deep so maybe he was in a septico....I'll ask Simon to empathise..

I take it from this post that YOU are OK!! We were wondering about you earlier today & concerned that the river behind you might have burst it's banks somewhat. Glad to hear that all is well & water hasn't got to your internet cables yet!! Take good care ~ Grahame.
Unfortunately Grahame I'm in New York where I'm enjoying paying less than Cabarete for dinner and drinks but not enjoying the temperature which was 10 degrees fahrenheit yesterday morning!!!
Back on Saturday with a brolly methinks
cheers
