My husband and I are planing to be visiting Samana on December 27, 2011. We would like to hike Salto del Limon Cascade by foot. Can anyone suggest a guide or a tour operator we can contact.

i will say there is no need for spending money on a guide, the hike is only for an hour or so

I am going in Oct. and staying in Samana. Is there better entrance depending on your hotel location? I much rather do the Dominican way, than the tourist way

It sounds like you are in port for a day and trying to arrange a tour. If that is the case book a tour that originates in Samana and brings you out to Limon Falls. You can google info on Limon Falls and it will give you and idea of what is involved and the cost.
