Sandals- Punta Cana

I found this in the DR1 Travelnews Archive. Is it actually under construction?

This was announced quite some years ago but nothing has happened yet.

It is my understanding that Sandals has purchased land in Punta Cana but has yet to develop it.

This is correct but as you say, they have not built yet.

Yes Sandals reserved a piece of land between Club Med & PUNTACANA Resort and Club, that was like 6 yrs ago, they havent started any construction yet, although they are always mentioned in the masterplan, I believe there is a due date for sandals to start the construction or they will lose this oportunity.
