Sandals Resorts again interested in investing in Dominican Republic

Sandals Resorts International of Jamaica is again interested in investing in tourism ventures in the Dominican Republic. Company president Adam Stewart and his executive committee met with President Luis Abinader at the Presidential Palace last week. Pro Dominicana, the export and investment agency of the Dominican government and Dominican ambassador in Jamaica Angie Martínez coordinated the visit. Gebhard Rainer, CEO of Sandals, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, President Abinader referred to Stewart’s father (Gordon Butch Stewart) as a “legend” of the tourism industry and a source of pride not only for Jamaica, but for the world. Abinader said he had personally met Stewart’s father. Many years back, Gordon Butch Stewart had visited and considered investing in a property in the Punta Cana area.

As soon as you use your Marriott points in Sosua.

Most likely another Punta Cana area resort. It is all about Punta Cana.

well we know it wont be in Cabarete, there is barely enough infrastructure there to support the current budget challenged crowd
Nope, just a Marriott W for Cabarete, although I suppose it could be put in where Abinader wanted to revamp the resort near Perla Marina.
