Santiago Airport Curse

It seems like if the airport in Santiago has been holding a curse yesterday and today. AA749, AA5180 yesterday had problems getting into the airport while AA2296 after taking off and being in the air had to turn back to pop because of mechanic problems. Today AA1774 after being almost an jour in the air had to turn back to Santiago for maintenance (Supposely). AA738 was suppose to leave at 9AM and beause of Mechanic problems had to be put to leave at 130PM. Just something I though was intresting to share with you people. I can imagine how crazy the passangers of those flights were.

oh wow,, didn't know.

any rumors as to why?
I was told problems with the runway.

I just got off the phone with Badpiece. It was a crash landing coming back. They didn't land in Puerto Plata because they said there wasnt enough medical services there.

He said that they hit a bird on takeoff and an hour into the flight they dropped several thousand feet and made a left and a left in a real hurry. He said the stewardesses were reading a manual while trying to calm passengers.

He is still trying to get his luggage. He lost his sunglasses. They were told to empty their pockets and hold their ankles when landing. The plane is supposedly leaving at 10pm tonight but he says HE AIN'T GONNA GET BACK on THAT PLANE.

Now for the Bad news. He says he is going to Taco Tuesday. Badpenny strikes again.

The airplane returned to Santiago because there was a smell in the cabin and they decided to turn back. The controllers told the airport that the airplane was coming with engines out to Santiago which in fact activated an alert 2 which require the deployment of the emergency services at the airport. As I understand, at last, it was only burn rubber smell from the tires. An investigation is following.

See, sometimes things work out as they ought. Thank goodness he forgot to pack that cheese.

So... where is he now. No show for Taco Tuesday. :(

(Hugs to you, Badpiece. Not funny at all, sweetie.)

It was neat seeeing everything on TOP of the cart rise into the air and float for a second or two!!!!!!!!!....I cant believe the wing stayed onin that jolt!...well that was it, and a half hour later I got to eat...I was just about finnished when the last lady stopped crying. so is it Santiago and an AA curse?????????? It's funny what you said about the cologne. I flew STI - JFK on Sept 13th and had 4 colognes in my carry-on luggage. One of the inspectors kept asking me how much each one was LOL.

Santiago Airport Thieves

I got stuck in JFK overnight a while back, but my bags made it to STI ahead of me.

While the bags sat in the American Airlines baggage office, they went through it and stole a cell phone and about 10 dollars in US quarters.

They left me 2 quarters... I assume that was so I could call somebody since they took my cell phone.

Lesson learned.

thats strange....my flight to STI on spt 2nd was 2.5 hours late leaving!...one of the reasons( not the complete delay ) was that they had put someones bags on the plane, but that person never made it onto the plane( via boarding pass info)..so they said they have to wait to take the luggage off the plane before they left!!!!.....

then they anounced that that person finally made it onto the plane and thus they had to delay again to get him luggage BACK onto the plane!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know how often it happens and who has gone through it...but when we rolled out onto the runway.. they were 30 plus planes lined up in front of us!!!!!!!!! talk about a prime terrorist opportunity!!!!... and they seemed to be all using the same runway!!!! I would think JFK is big enough to have planes take off in several directions!

Although i realize that air traffic in New York can be busy because i have hunted and fished long island sound down near the city and the planes come out of the city less than a minute apart, and as close as a half mile apart as they climb and turn inland one after another for hours on end!!!!...bob
