Scuba diving in December

Can anyone tell me (a South African currently living in La Romana) where the best place would be to scuba dive in the DR in Decmber / January? Can you suggest a dive centre / resort to contact? I'm a qualified PADI Dive Master so could go as either a DM or a regular client for my 3 weeks vacation.

Scuba Diving in Samana

My wife and I are both PADI Master divers and were in Samana 3 weeks ago as we bought a house there. The hotels and dive resorts will usually always take you to the most easily accessible dive sites that have been over explored. I had the best night dive of my life by talking with and going out with local fishermen. They know the good unexplored sites. We went out on wall dive to about 55 feet and seen the highest concentration and variety of marine life that I had ever witnessed. It was amazing!! The fishermen helped with the equipment and stayed on site during a major rain while we were down under and did not complain at all. They were excited that we had a great dive. It cost the three of us $60.00 US total, $20.00 for the fishermen and $40.00 for the boat. We supplied our own gear. The tanks we rented from a local dive shop.
