SD Cable Car Linea 1 Suspended for 8 Days

The Office for Transportation Reordering (OPRET) reported today the suspension of service on Line 1 of the Santo Domingo Cable Car from April 12 to 20, due to scheduled annual maintenance, resuming operations on Monday 21.

But, admit it, 8 days is way too long. Even, OSMA bus will run the same route (Almost) for free but they don't realize it will take 3X more longer than the Cable car route.

"Scheduled annual maintenance" ..... are we talking about the DR here ..... never experienced that before.

Can't speak on SD but I do know the cable cars here in Santiago were closed down a few times last month. I was told it had to do with (lack of) electricity, not maintenance.

Was thinking the same exact thing. Less riff raff moving around the city.
