sending gifts to Santo Domingo

I live in New York and want to send some gifts to Santo Domingo.
Can someone tell me the least expensive way to send gifts.
If you have an address or phone number it would help. I live in Suffolk County on Long Island. If that helps to narrow down the search all the more better. Thank you for you reply one and all.

That exact issue had come up in my household too. My former husband and his friend (both Dominican) said to insure the package or give it to somebody who is going there to deliver it. At least if they don't receive it, it's insured and you get money back.

I can't comment on Santo Domingo as a city, but I've had the experience that gifts/letters/packages tend to get to whereever I've adressed them to (Sosua, Puerto Plata, and especially Montecristi) fairly quick and with few losses (from Germany - 6 days for letters and small packages), with the EXCEPTION of Christmas-time!

You be the judge. The "Mail" is cheapest, but other services may be better during this time. Then again, Santo Domingo is so big who knows what can happen there - no different than Berlin though!

Sorry I couldn't provide real advice but Merry Christmas anyway!
