Is anyone aware of an alternative to UPS/FedEx/DHL to send something very light (like one envelope) to Florida? It doesn't need to be overnight/fast express but we do want it to get there within a couple of weeks. I guess the DR Postal is out of the question.

Most of us use email, or find someone traveling in next two weeks to drop it in a US mailbox when they go back.

Interesting how you can send something light via one of the express companies here for a couple hundred pesos yet not the other way around. Maybe there's a business potential there. . .
Crazy to pay $75 USD for a FedEx letter to MIA.

Mr. AE just paid $69 for a single sheet of paper to Santo Domingo from New Jersey. Fedex.

I've sent legal documents with INPOSDOM (state post office) correo-certificado. It usually arrives in under 10 working day. They provide you with a tracking number and the service price is very reasonable. Attached is a PDF of the payment schedule but here is the relevant info for convenience:

I have also used the local post office to mail letters and I’ve received mail there too. Outgoing I always use the correo certificada, ten day to 2 weeks to get to destination and cheap. Nothing has ever been lost.
