The Ministry of Public Health has confirmed the seventh case of monkeypox in the country. The two most recent cases are those of a 60-year old man in Moca and a 32-year old man in San Cristóbal. Both presented symptoms and are being treated at the Ramón de Lara Air Force Base teaching hospital in eastern Santo Domingo. The previous five cases were also treated at the Ramón de Lara hospital and were discharged after satisfactory recovery.
The Ministry of Public Health urges people to be on the watch. It says cases of monkeypox could increase in the coming days.
