Also going here 7th March. Had heard worrying stories that it was not ready, but have since received some assurances.
Anyone going before then, please keep me posted and let
me know how you found it

I'm flying out to Punta Cana and staying at the Sirenis Cocotal Hotel later on in the year. I would really like to hear back about what the resort was like and if it's all completed. I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you !!

Hi
We are going to the Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort on the 21st February 2001. Looks like we're the first at the moment. When we get back we'll forward some info.

Here is a copy of a report taking from another web site.
As you will be there towards end of Feb, would appreciate
your further comments on your return. I fly out on the
7th MARCH.
----------------------------------------------------------------

We have returned from the Sirenis Cocotal today, after a 2 week holiday and I'm not sure you are going to like what I have to tell you. The building work has been finished but only on one side of the Hotel, they are adding another section which will be simetrical to the existing Hotel. The work for this was not actually going on when we were there, and it was borded off, so it didn't bother us, but if the work commences while you are there if won't be very good. The rooms where all very nice and if anything needed fixing - ie air conditioning they sent someone straight away. Staff where very nice. Swimming pool area was lovely. Food was very good, but a bit the same. Beautiful long sandy palm fringed beach, stretched for miles, no other hotel nearby, lovely for a romantic walk. Whales spotted off the beach! The biggest problem was being eated alive but bugs, firstly the sand flies and then the killer mosquitoes, everyone was complaining - some asking to be transferred! My husband's bites were quite bad and we when to the doctor on site. Very efficient, but you don't really want this sort of thing on your holiday. Not sure how they will sort this problem out as they have lots of lily ponds (look very pretty) which is why there are SO may mosquitoes.

After all this we did have a lovely holiday, hope this info is of use to you. If you want to know anything else please reply.

Sarah.
