Sovereignty 4.0 Project launched to mitigate Haitian radio interference in border regions

The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel), in coordination with the ministries of Defense, Culture, and Education, has launched the “Sovereignty 4.0” project. The project seeks to mitigate radio spectrum interference in Dominican border zones caused by Haitian stations through technical enhancements to local broadcasters and the active promotion of Dominican identity and culture.

The Haitian stations reflect the large audience of the large Haitian migrant population in the border provinces. The initiative aims to reinforce national identity and access to local content in the country’s border communities.
