How would I translate "An American Backpacker" into Spanish?

The thing that comes to mind is "un(a) mochilero/a americano/a" but I don't know...

You won't find the exact translation for this in the DR as this is not part of our customs, but a person who travel from place to place carrying his life in a back pack this is a good calificative "Un decricajao"...
