Spanish word for zipper

As kids, we learned that cierre de cremallera was the proper term for 'zipper,' but do you know if it's used anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world?

In Peru, cierre or cremallera are fine. Never heard cierre de cremallera together.

In mexico they say cierre, but I've heard cierre de cremallera. I believe the cremallera is the actual zipper.

I just did a survey with my friends from different countries-

Here are the variations:

Venezuela- cierre
Mexico- cierre (my friend also said they would not use cremallera)
Colombia- cremallera
Chile- cierre
Nicaragua- z?per
Ecuador- cierre

My family always say 'cremallera' - but I'm not sure if it's due to the Venezuelan or the Spanish influence. Dominicans say z?per (or z?pel!).

Actually in Colombia both are used my friend just came and told me after having thought about it. It's probably the same in Venezuela both words most likely are used.

I have one more addition from a friend here. In El Salvador they use z?per.
