If you also feel they are in very poor taste, why not let Spirit's Chief Marketing Officer know? Once in awhile, companies actually listen to their customers if they get enough protests.

His name is Barry Biffle and his e-mail address is: barry.biffle@spiritair.com

i know that DR1 policy normally doesn't allow e-mail addresses to be posted here on the forums, but am asking for an exception and lenience in this case. Sorry, I'm pixxed off right now. Inexcusable.

You think this is bad? I've used Spirit off and on from the start and still get daily emails in my junk email with odd if not offensive add campains.

And the problem is. Excellent add campaign, you are talking about it.

They've been getting quite a bit of free airtime here in SOFLO lately between the pilot's strike and the (fill in the blanks) ads.

What I do like about them is the dirt cheap airfare and especially the flight times. JetBlue flights are like 7 a.m. which means I have to leave my house @ ~3 a.m., when I'm usually getting home;)

Dirt cheap to begin with... then they hit you -
booking fee, bag fee, seat fee.........it never stops

The biggest knock I've heard about them is the inability to accurately determine a ticket cost in advance.

BTW, they are very profitable and were stonewalling the pilots wage increase which was , in fact, quite affordable to the company.

Would anyone who is truly offended by the Spirit ads care to spell out what it is exactly that he/she finds offensive? Additionally, if there were no gulf-oil-spill, would you feel the same way? I'm not affiliated in any way with the airline, never flown it nor plan to fly it in the future so skip the personal attacks replies.

If there was no oil spill, Spirit wouldn't have come up with this stupid ad. They're mocking something that will cost the US (and BP and others) billions of dollars in the hopes they can sell a few seats to some other destination.

If Spirit Airlines had a plane crash somewhere with 100 passengers onboard, would it be acceptable to you for JetBlue to run ads saying "Fly with us and get where you're going in one piece - we've got the spirit to do it!"

Well, the ads in my opinion are...

Would anyone who is truly offended by the Spirit ads care to spell out what it is exactly that he/she finds offensive? Additionally, if there were no gulf-oil-spill, would you feel the same way? I'm not affiliated in any way with the airline, never flown it nor plan to fly it in the future so skip the personal attacks replies.

clearly a reference to the BP oil spill/disaster. But more importantly and hardly mentioned anymore in the news coverage these days, is the fact that eleven people lost their lives as a consequence.

If one does not find the ad offensive on economic and environmental damage grounds coupled with Spirit's attempt to capitalize on it, then surely one would find it offensive in using the death of eleven people to further a marketing campaign.

While their ads have always pushed the envelope, I find this one to be repugnant.

Imagine the possibilities of capitalizing on the situation if they flew to Haiti around the time of the earthquake!

I wouldn't stress about it, it won't change anything. What is the harm in trying to lighten something where all we are getting fed is negativity and endless excuses.
I expect BP will allow the flow to go on as long as possible now after the football result :cheeky:

If I were to rearrange and manipulate the BP ad this way: Check out the oils on our beaches!! BP=Beautiful People(insert photo of well tanned model having coconut oil rubbed onto her well toned athletic body by an equally toned and tanned male model on a white sandy beach with palms and coconuts in the background and a Spirit jet flying overhead), would you still find it offensive? Is it the reference to the oil spill or the effort to capitalize on a disaster(as many other companies are doing) that some find troubling? And, I agree, the 11 killed are hardly mentioned on any news feed anymore.:surprised
