How does it compare with regular Starbucks espresso or with other Dominican brands? Where is it sold? Cost?

I saw the coffee once, at a Starbucks in Albertsons (grocery store in the US). They had several different coffees from different countries. If I remember correctly, it was just under $20.00. I was tempted to buy it, but I am really not a coffee drinker, so I passed. I have never seen it again.

My SIL has looked all over the DR, Nacional included, and she can't find it. Which Nacional in SD? She is making an "all things DR" basket for a friend and really wants to buy this. She even called Starbucks corporate but according to them they no longer sell it.

El Hijo de Manolo

It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous!

Well she could just by Colombian coffee as that's the main component of the unpalatable Cafe Dingo!

Adding here she could save a ton of $$ and buy Cibao, notches above CSD

I would also make a note that you can have the best coffee berries in the world and still make bad coffee, as so much depends on the roasting and brewing process. Ever wonder why most different varieties of SBs have a similar taste, that's because they roast their own. And it is why, if you buy the SBs Dominican berries, already roasted by SBs themselves, you will have a completely different experience than if you brewed up a cup of Cafe Dingo. That and they add components to stretch it (Induban I mean)

She should get Monte Real. The best Dominican coffee bar none.

I asked her and she said it was one on 27 Ave Febero and it was on limited time so I am not sure if it is still there

The roasting has to be slow.

Coffee with added flavoring. Tastes like a cheap chocolate bar what do they call them Mas Mas o Rocky.

We’re not fans of Monte Real either. We used to love cobraboy’s (wife’s family) coffee, but rust killed that. Induban en grano and Santo Domingo Espresso en grano are decent. Surprisingly, Bravo’s store brand beans are good too.

I was trying to remember another good one from Jarabaca, starts with an M I think, (Bob S will know) and I stumbled on this page:

Do you know why?

A lot of people love the chocolate smell. I do too, but as an after dinner drink. Not so much for early morning
