Going to try this again - I couldn't get it when they were doing them in Sosua. My cedula had expired the week before.

Need to go to Puerto Plata - grrrrr 🤬
Where to go?
I have my renewed cedula, matricula, proof of insurance, helmet and of course my pasola

Do I need anything else ?

How about your motorcycle license?
no - but very few of the hundreds who were at the Sosua registration had any sort of license. All they had was a cedula - no proof of insurance, matricula, etc. Many didn't even have a Placa and were assigned some sort of number in place of a real Placa number. I have a GM Ontario drivers license (General/Motorcycle) but I expect that will mean squat here.

Anyone know if foreigners have done this without a DR motorcycle drivers license ?

Gone are the days when the only thing you needed to drive a Moto or a Car was a Moto or a Car.......

No. The only way a foreigner without legal residency can drive a motorcycle legally is to pay someone off under the table so they are "in the system" illegally. That is very unlikely to happen.

Indeed. When I was at INTRANT when my wife was getting her motorcycle endorsement added to her license, I asked how long a foreign license is valid to the manager of INTRANT. He said 30 days. Some erroneously think it is 90 days.

By the way, when my wife got her motorcycle endorsement added to her normal automobile driver's license at INTRANT in Puerto Plata, she was told she did not need a helmet sticker.

Strange but true.

I should have asked " Anyone know if foreigners with Legal Residency have done this without a DR motorcycle drivers license ? "

My buddy and I are going to try next week and we are both Legal residents

I don't see how you legally get a sticker without a DR motorcycle license. Someone with legal residency in the DR could certainly get a motorcycle license at INTRANT.

My wife took the motorcycle license test at INTRANT in Puerto Plata and got her new license with both the automobile and motorcycle endorsements within minutes of passing the test. The overall procedure took a few hours.

She was told that she did not need a helmet sticker, and therefor did not receive one.

Cabarete
There are a lot of snowbirds at my condo with pasolas - at least a half dozen. As far as I know, none of them have a sticker on their helmet and none have a DR driver's license. There has been two AMET road check points in Cabarete every day for months now - one in front of the police station and the other in front of Hotel Kaoba(close to Banco Popular). So far anyway - no problem.

My wife went to get one, she dosent have a motorcycle license and dosent ride the payola. She took her daughter also no license and got the sticker. And the pasola is not even registered in her name. Different day different rules, different official different rules. Don try to figure it out, you will give yourself a headache.
