Tag & ride

I'm really having a frustrating time with my Spanish today. My young Grandson, who lives in Toronto, has been trying to teach the game of Tag to some young Dominican friends but only speaking English got lost. I have a feeling that its called "tapao" or something similar but ????????
Second problem , I am trying to explain the difference to my wife, who is learning English, the difference between "mounting a horse or bicycle" and "riding a horse or bicycle" , Montar or pasear surely can't be the word for both. If you mount a horse it doesn't get you anywhere, you have to ride it to where ever.

May be the dictionary writers were never children!!

I think tag is topao.
Montar in Spanish means to ride as well as to mount (a bicycle or a horse).

What about other Dominican playground games - like "losa" or "riki" - any idea what they might be?

Montarse en un caballo, same as in English is to mount a horse.
To ride a horse = cabalgar un caballo.
To ride a bicycle = manejar una bicicleta.

To ride a bike: montar en bicicleta, pasear en bicicleta, andar en bicicleta

Not common: Manejar una bicicleta -used in certain parts of Per?.

Poetically speaking it is fine. To you, the wind knows how to ride a horse.

Did you mean: . . . cabalguen en el viento?

In english the command would be " Mount your steeds (horses) and ride like the wind" in the sense that the King's daughter is in danger.

OK. So, you do mean "cabalguen como el viento" as in "ride freely, as fast as you can.
