I'm a new fan to baseball, and I've been following the New York Mets this year. I still want to learn as much baseball as I can, so I thought let's bring it to the homeland and seeing that the Dominican League has just started, this would be a perfect time.
I am all about rooting for your home team no matter how poorly they play. (I'm sure you got that impression the moment I said I supported the New York Mets, haha.)
My mother is from Los Minas, Santo Domingo. And my father is from Haina, but spent years in el trece... wherever that is. I'm sure it's still considered La Capital. As you can see I am wanting to root for a team who plays in the Capital, however I see that there are TWO teams that represent Santo Domingo.
Is there like a land barrier that separates the Licey fans from the Escogidos? For ex: Bronx are Yankees territories and Queens are the Mets.
PS. Anyone know any streams so I can keep up with the game? Thank you very much!
Also, I'm not trying to bandwagon on any team that's doing well. I usually like underdog teams. I know that Licey has a very rich history, but I also see that Escogido has been doing well recently.
