The Weather in May

Hello everyone,

I will be travelling to the D.R. in may, my fiancee and are are getting married and thats the only time I can get 2 weeks off. We will be staying at the Barcelo Cappella Beach Resort. What is the weather like in May, I have heard different things from all kinds of people, can some one (perhaps D.R.ONE can help) who knows what there talking about give me some information I would greatly appreciate it!, Thanks in advance Bill

This is the tropics. Capella is located in Juan Dolio, an area where it rains very little all year round. You should bring lots of sunscreen and expect sunny days. If it rains, it will be short showers. The most usual weather forecast for the south and southeast coast is partly sunny with occasional short showers. These showers will last 10 or 15 minutes and the sun will shine again. There have been occasions when it rains for two or three days straight, but these are very rare. And of course, there is the slight chance you will get caught in a hurricane (August-September). Come and enjoy the good weather.
