Im not sure of the spelling, but im looking for the meaning of the term 'gracial.' Its really bugging me that i cant find it in a dictionary. Thank you.

If this was said by a Dominican, it could be "glacial" that is, having to do with a glacier.

It could also have been "graciar" which is to be gracious or please by being polite.

These are not precise definitions, but working from "feeling" for the word and how Dominicans will sometimes pronounce them...

Could you give us a context? It would make things easier...

It was used as in 'hola la gracial' or something like that, i think. I just remember hearing it and not having a clue what it meant. Maybe i heard it slightly wrong and it is actually 'graciar'

Hola la gracial to Dominican ears would be a mystery. I sure hope he wasn't saying Hola desgraciada.

In that context, I would think that Azabache has it right.

This must have been said with a smile, I hope, since "desgraciada/o" (pronounced /de gra see ah/ or /de gra see ao/ in colloquial Dominican usage) is not a nice thing to call anyone. It's sort of like:
Hi, you old S.O.B.!

Therefore, both Azabache and I do hope that this was a freindly greeting
