Heading to Santo Domingo this week. My contact who usually picked me up/drove me around is no longer in Santo Domingo.

Does anyone have a contact for someone safe/reliable? I particularly care about pickup at the airport & dropping me off at the minimum. Thanks!

I had a driver like that. I found him on Uber and we became chummy. So I bypassed Uber and used him exclusively about once a week. He's a 30 something with a wife and 2 kids so he had to find a better income. So now I'm back to Uber solo.

The point for the OP is though, start out with Uber and find a guy you like and can trust. Get his phone # and bypass Uber, always paying in cash.

Well well well ...... getting an "Honest" Driver that that cheats his employer (Uber) by letting you bypass them. This sounds interesting.

This happens a lot. I personally have had 2 drivers that were with Uber that I have used outside of Uber.

Agree. It's an option for sure. I've tried it (several times, arraving late at Las Americas but the guy(s) didn't want to leave his/their bed for 2.000 pesos :ROFLMAO: )
