This guy is campaigning all over facebook to be mayor of SD. I've heard some stories but the only thread I could find was this one below, which discusses his *ahem* character...

http://dr1.com/forums/showthread.php/116661-Dominican-First-Lady-Has-Spent-More-Than-17-Million-Pesos-in-Hats?highlight=Karim+Abu+Naba

This was helpful from a google search: http://kiskeya.life/who-is-karim-abu-nabaa/

It seems he is popular in the barrios with people who believe the millionaire will come through and save SD and the whole entire country. Let's say he is elected, what would it mean for SD? Just more of these oh-so-absolutely-necessary malls, or.....

Karim Abu Naba wants to re-educate the Dominican mind, to motivate it.

Good luck with that, I am sorry to say. Can't even educate the people to pay for electricity.

After talking to some people in the barrio, he might as well be Cristo viene para mi pais. He has this video of him flying a eurocoptor(?) over the poor barrios, then crashing into the filthy Ozama river. He emerges with a water jet pack with gleaming high rises and tidy river front properties popping up all around him. He's more like Trump-easy to dismiss in the beginning, but gaining steady momentum and perhaps a force to be reckoned with?

His campaign has been primarily Social Media and he constantly gives away iphones and movie tickets. He states he is not a politician and has no experience yet somehow he will turn Santo Domingo into Dubai. The poor alongside the Ozama river will be relocated to new condos. Credibility factor alert has gone off big time!
Many locals on his FB page feel he is just a spoiled rich kid pretending he can make a difference. Since the past leading candidate Domingo Contreras was suspiciously kicked to the curb in favor of 14+ year mayor Roberto. Karim may have been smarter to run under the PRM

Let's be realistic, this guy doesn't have a chance.

Your right the same ol DR will continue to allow the same thieves to continue to steal and embarrass this country. Especially in the areas or education, medical and crime rate

so I guess that dude is muslim right?

Not sure on the religion. The kisekeyalife link posted earlier says that his mother is Dominican and his father has Jordanian origins. He calls himself "El Principe", but has no royal lineage. Like he is actually interested in answering the question of "Por que somos pobres?".

Reading a few of his articles he should make up his mind. Why are 'we' poor he says. Including himself. That's so cheap. Everyone knows he's one of 'them' the rich (because of daddy and not because of vision, passion, intelligence, etc as he mentions) and besides then he goes on anyone can be really rich (as in have money work for him instead of working for money.

So, since he includes himself in the poor category, didn't his vision work out for him?

First make up a coherent and consistent story if you want to educate others and become a leader.

The "por qu? somos pobres?" slogan is not even original, he stole it from a campaign in Colombia. Most of his followers are young people, and as Aristotle said "youth is easily deceived because it is quick to hope". Couple that with na?vet? and lack of education...at least El Pr?ncipe knows his audience.
