Has anyone ever stayed here? Comments? I searched the archives and didn't turn up anything. Thank you in advance.

Very nice, but as far as entertainment, it's entirely up to you because there is none at the hotel. Meals are fine but limited selection. Pool is small but clean. Beach is private but small. Location is absolutely gorgeous. There are several other places close by for nightlife and more selection for eating. This is a very laid back place suitable for honeymooning or just relaxing. Good place to stay while your making daytrips to other locations. Easy and cheap to go to Ricon beach, Cayo Levantado...etc. This hotel is not the place to go if your a party animal.

Re: Villa Serena, Las Galeras websites

Hi! Here's the website for the village of Las Galeras:

Villa Serena website:

http://www.samana.net/villa-serena.html

We (an elderly couple) spent 3 weeks in Las Galeras in June and July. It's a good, quiet village - you'll not be at all disappointed with the beach, the friendly people.
We saw Villa Serena, but didn't go in. True what the guy said - if you like partying - don't expect it in Las Galeras. It's a place to relax and beach it - and some good food, too!
While in Las Galeras, be sure to go to the El Marinique restaurant for the best food in town! It's just off the Main Street, (it's not far from Villa Serena) just ask - or you might just see the sign at the end of Main Street, near the beach(pretty hard not to notice the sign). Tell Andy and Nicole that Mame sent you!! And we'll be spending December - March in town!

You are headed for "Paradise." Enjoy it! -Mame and Ed-

There was a very good review of Villa Serena sometime ago on Debbie's website (www.debbiesdominicantravel.com), but I don't see it anymore. It has been sometime since my visit to Villa Serena, but in my opinion, this is the prettiest hotel in Las Galeras. If you want to relax and get away from it all, then this is the place.

Regards, Natasha

Yes, we did stay there, very quiet and exclusive, Lionel was in the same time we stay. Food is not that great at the restaurant in the premises, try Nicole's around the corner from Villa Serena. Rates are from $100 to $135/night and all rooms have balcony and face the ocean.
You could find more on their wesite on Samana Net.
Cheers,
