What can one do with their belongings such as camera, backpack, etc. while at the beach in Sosua when you want to go snorkelling or whatever? I noticed their were many restaurant/bars along the beach, would they look after my stuff? Are there lockers by chance? I'm not implying by any means that Dominicans are dishonest, I'd have the same concerns anywhere.
Thanks.

I know it is a pain, but your hotel should offer a handy lock for a "safe" in your hotelrooms closet? It is normally $10-$20 US.

In my two trips to Playa Dorada I found it extreamly valuable to
keep my passport, extra cash, and any other misc. things not
needed immediatly in the room safe.

I do trust Dominicans generally, but you never know when it comes to a camera, laptop, or any other valuables. I have left things on my beach chair (lotion, sun glasses, towel, cigars) while I've gone to the restaurant, bathroom, bar..etc.

I am anxious to get back to the Dominican. I enjoyed myself emensly both times I've been their. Good Luck!

When it comes to "trust", this reminds me of a passage from the late F. P. Dunne:
"I trust everyone, but I always cut the cards"
