What do "como una ruda" and "a Beli le salio el lobo" mean?

I'm reading Junot Diaz's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
Because I'm a Japanese, there are so many Dominican Spanish expressions I don't understand. I would really appreciate if you help me!

There is a passage like this:

How about I buy you a drink? he said, and when she turned away como una ruda, he grabbed her arm, hard, and said, Where are you going, morena? And that was all it took: a Beli le salio el lobo. (115)

What do "como una ruda" and "a Beli le salio el lobo" mean?

I have found that someone writes, "something like "roughly" and "something like 'the wolf in Beli came out.'"

Are these correct? Also, do you often use these expressions?

Sounds like some bronx spanglish.I read it as she turned away rudely.The second part is correct probably stating beli's inner wolf had surfaced,Its just another way of saying inner player.I've heard similar terms where someone was compared to an animal to denote their mood.Its funny I just started trying to learn japanese today.Ill be in Okinawa next year.
